Hello World my name is Wendy I grew up in Torrance Ca. and now I am living in Norwalk Ca. I just moved a year go and its crazy to say this but I just got married this weekend. No honeymoon just took two days off... I am a new wife and a preschool teacher. I work for an amazing company that provides low income families with child care. I have been working here for 8 years and it was transformed my life completely. I enjoy working with kids everyday from babies to preschoolers. I love to spend time with family and friends and traveling. I love to ride horses and volunteer at my local shelters. Working at a preschool does not require you to have a top-noch degree but it is time for me to finish my BA and continue my education so I can provide the children I work with a better teacher and to better guide them. What surrounds me right now is a pile of wedding books, presents and a mess I hope to take tomorrow off and but away the mess a wedding creates. The most defining characteristic of American culture today I think is that we had a president that is a different color from all those before him. We finally crossed that line and I believe the whole world cheered us on for finally stepping into the light and voting for an african american president. I think that that itself will be something many Americans will be proud of doing for years to come.
